Lark Lane Housing Coop is about 30-40 years old having set up and registered as a Co-operative in 1975 but not having any properties till a few years later. More information on the start of the Coop can be found on our History page. Our co-operative is run by its tenants for its tenants through a management committee made up of tenants. We pay North West Housing Services, which is another cooperative, to manage our properties on a day to day basis. They collect rent, organise repairs, schedule cyclical works such as painting our homes, keep the management committee aware of legislation that affects our properties and give us a lot of support too.
General meetings are for tenants only and are your opportunity to discuss issues about your homes with other tenants. These meetings occur two or three times a year, one around March time, possibly one in June and our Christmas get together in December. We also have an Annual General Meeting some time in September, our housing officer will try to attend this along with our accountants who will be there to present our accounts. They usually happen on a Monday around 7.00PM and you will receive your invite and minutes before the meetings.
